Indigo Dyeing Workshop

Celebrate Earth Day by creating a pair of socks and 4 upcycled napkins dyed in indigo. You’ll learn how to create an indigo vat and a little of indigo’s long history. While the vat is processing, you can decorate your textiles using Japanese Shibori (tie-dye and clamped resists) patterns. Please bring a natural fiber (cotton, linen, wool, silk) textile from home to dye too, either a t-shirt or something of similar size.
