A sneak peek performance, light reception and meeting with the artists event will raise funds for the Adams County Arts Council and Music, Gettysburg! Masks are required to enter the Seminary.
On Friday, September 10, at 7:30 pm, the soloists for the Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra concert on September 12 will present a special “Meet The Artist” program at the United Lutheran Seminary Chapel as a fund raiser for these two local organizations. Guests will not only hear these two artists but will also have an opportunity to dine/drink/and speak with them at a reception in the Seminary Refectory immediately after the program.
Local pianist Jocelyn Swigger, a member of the Sunderman Conservatoy faculty at Gettysburg College, and violinist Denise Dillenbeck, Concertmaster of the York Symphony Orchestra, will be the artists performing for both events and will perform a variety of famous and not-so-famous works for the audience.
Violinist Denise Dillenbeck has also toured internationally with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and has been a member of the Seattle Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony and the Pennsylvania Ballet Theater Orchestra. She has recorded solo and chamber works for the Albion and KOCH labels and has been the coordinator of the Philadelphia Orchestra’s Strings International Music Festival. Denise was a Fellow at the Aspen Institute and has played for the Oregon Bach Festival and the Chautaqua Music Institute.
Both soloists will join the Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra on Sunday, September 12, for a free concert at 4:00 pm in the Seminary Chapel. More details here: https://discoversouthmountain.com/event/gettysburg-chamber-orchestra-concert-2/
